Day 2: Trusting God's Promises
Scripture: Romans 4:20-21 - "Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised."
Reflection: Abraham's faith was unwavering because he believed in God's power to fulfill His promises. This trust was the foundation of his relationship with God.
Application: Identify a promise from God’s Word that you can hold onto today. How can this promise strengthen your faith?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to trust in Your promises. Strengthen my faith so that I can stand firm, knowing that You are faithful to fulfill Your word. Amen.
Now, trusting in God’s promises, especially when they seem about as likely as winning the lottery, is tough. Abraham was promised descendants as numerous as the stars. Pretty big promise to a guy whose wife hadn’t been able to have kids and was way past the age of trying. But here’s where it gets real. Faith isn’t about seeing; it’s about believing—believing that if God says it, He’ll do it. It’s about holding onto His promises, even when the evidence suggests you should let go. This kind of trust doesn’t come overnight. It’s forged in the fire of uncertainty and doubt, tempered by the assurance that God’s word never fails.
