Day 20 - Faithfulness in the Small Things

Scripture: Luke 16:10 - "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much."

Reflection: Let’s start with the small stuff. It’s easy to think that being a good steward is only about the big moments—like major financial donations or life-changing decisions. But what about the everyday choices? Like deciding not to waste time on endless scrolling through social media or choosing to volunteer a few hours at your local charity. These might seem minor, but they add up, painting a picture of who we are and what we value. Jesus nailed it when He said that whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much. It’s in these small acts of faithfulness that our character is built. It’s where we practice the principles of stewardship that pave the way for bigger responsibilities. Think of it as training wheels in the world of stewardship; get these right, and you’re ready for the road ahead.

Application: Today, focus on being faithful in the small things. Whether it’s managing your time wisely, making thoughtful spending choices, or volunteering, let your actions reflect your commitment to God.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be faithful in the small things. Guide my everyday decisions and actions so that they honor You and reflect Your love. Amen.

Now, handling our finances with integrity is a huge part of this. It’s not just about making sure the bills are paid but about reflecting on how our spending aligns with our values. Does your bank statement reflect a life devoted to God and His purposes? Are you investing in your passions and gifts in a way that builds up rather than just consumes? Each dollar spent is like a vote cast for the kind of world you want to live in. So, make it count. Budget for generosity. Plan for hospitality. Save with a purpose. And yes, even splurge occasionally with a clear conscience, knowing that it’s part of enjoying the blessings God has poured into your life.
