Day 14: Expanding Our Circle of Care

Scripture: Galatians 6:2 - "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."

Reflection: Godly love calls us to broaden our care to include others.

Application: Reach out to someone outside your usual circle and show them love.

Prayer: Lord, help me to expand my circle of care to include others. Amen.

This kind of godly love calls us to broaden our squad goals. It’s about expanding our circle of care beyond those who look like us, think like us, or even believe like us. It's about seeing the image of God in every face and responding to it. You might be thinking, "Sure, but how?" Start small. Share a meal, offer a ride, or just give your time to someone outside your usual crew. Listen to their stories, understand their struggles, and stand by them. This isn’t about token gestures but building bridges of genuine care and connection.

In the grind of daily life, it's easy to shrink our world to just us and ours. But loving the unlovable challenges us to throw open the doors of our hearts to the whole wide world—or at least to a bigger chunk of it. It's about making our love stretch until it surprises us how far it can reach. And here's the beautiful part: as we do, our own hearts grow. Every time we choose to love someone difficult, we inch a bit closer to the heart of Jesus, who loved us at our most unlovable. So, who’s your Samaritan stop today? Who’s that person you can show unexpected, lavish, boundary-crossing love to? Go on, surprise yourself.
